Male Infertility

A reduced number of spermatozoids (olygospermia) or their
complete non-existence (azoospermia), in 50 percent
of cases are the main causes of male infertility. That
condition can be acquired, it can occur due to the influence of
various outside factors, but the cause can also be hereditary.
Microdeletions of the Y chromosome, i.e. lack or loss of genes which
influence the creation of male sex cells during embryonic
development, can lead to a reduced or complete non-existence of
spermatozoids in male descendants.
These changes are not visible with standard microscopic procedures
and the only way to check the hereditary factor is by using the PCR method.
The analysis is not only desirable to allow him to have descendants, because
a man who has a genetic problem and insufficient number of
spermatozoids can have descendants by using artificial insemination, but
he is also at risk of passing that mutation, i.e. infertility on to his son.
Today’s technology enables you to get results in a day.
